The short answer

Estate work is volume work. The ladder is the same one every Sacramento job prices against:

Sort first, in this order

The cheapest estate cleanout is the one where the family has already made the decisions. Work the house in four passes, not room by room.

1. Documents and valuables. Deeds, titles, insurance, photographs, jewellery, the back of every drawer. Do this before anyone else enters the house.
2. Family distribution. Set a date. Whatever is unclaimed by that date is not claimed.
3. Sale. Mid-century furniture moves well in this market, especially anything from a Streng house. An estate sale operator or a consignment dealer can take a genuine bite out of the load.
4. Donation. Clothing, kitchenware, books, usable furniture.

What is left after those four passes is the haul, and it is usually half of what the family originally expected.

Three-bedroom Carmichael ranch, family has taken what it wants, estate sale has run.

That is above the full-truck rate of $732, so the named furniture books as a full load at $732, and the garage is quoted as a second visit off the same ladder.

If the piano had already been sold, the same list is $1,038 minus $290 = $748, still above $732, so still a full truck.

Probate, timelines and out-of-state families

A lot of Sacramento estate calls come from adult children in the Bay Area or out of state with a narrow window: a weekend, or a single trip. That is workable.

• Book the haul for the day after the sale or the family pass, not the same day. Things always run long.
• You do not have to be present. Access, a list of what stays, and photographs afterwards is a normal way to run it.
• If the house is going on the market, clear it before the photographer, not after. Empty rooms photograph better than half-empty ones.
