Pricing
What happens after I send a photo?
Each item in the picture is identified and priced from the published Sacramento list, and you see a single total before booking. Missed something? Add another photo and the total updates.
Is there a minimum charge in Sacramento?
Yes, $75. A lone sofa ($126) or a twin mattress ($82) is already above it.
Are upstairs flats and long driveways extra?
No. The price is the same whether the item is in the garage, on the third floor of a Midtown walk-up or at the bottom of a foothill driveway.
Do you charge a rush fee for same-day?
No. A same-day pickup costs exactly what a pickup next week would.
How does truck-fill pricing work?
Larger jobs are priced by how much of the 16-cubic-yard truck they fill, from $241 for a quarter to $732 for the whole thing. Your quote runs both methods and uses the cheaper one.
Booking and Pickup Day
How soon can a crew be here?
Often the same or next day near the middle of the region; addresses at the edges, like Galt or south Yuba City, do better with a day or two of notice.
Does someone have to be home?
No. Leave the items reachable or share a code, and you’ll get photos once the job is done.
Who carries the items out?
Vetted, insured local crews working through JunkRabbit. You deal with us for the booking and payment; they handle the lifting and the truck.
What about the summer heat?
Crews start early from June through September, when afternoons routinely pass 100°F. Morning windows go first, so book them early.
California Rules
Why can’t TVs go in the trash here?
California bans TVs, monitors and similar electronics from landfills. We deliver them to e-waste recyclers — see California e-waste rules.
What happens to old refrigerators?
They go to a recycler who removes the refrigerant and other hazardous parts before the metal is processed, as California requires.
Is there a free way to get rid of a mattress?
Yes. California’s program offers free consumer drop-off, and retailers must offer to take your old mattress within 30 days of delivering a new one. We’re for when neither works for you.
Do you take paint?
Yes. Paint has its own line on the quote — $30 for a gallon can, $52 for a five-gallon bucket — because it can’t go out with ordinary junk.
Local Pickup Programs
My mail says Sacramento — am I City or County?
Not necessarily City. Arden-Arcade, Rosemont, Florin, Foothill Farms and several other areas mail as “Sacramento” but are unincorporated County, which runs its own bulky program.
What does the County’s bulky pickup include?
One collection per household every twelve months with five cubic yards included, up to fifteen with charges. It excludes mirrors and glass, treated wood, concrete and stumps. Details are on our Sacramento hub.
