The short answer

Most Sacramento households land in one of three bands.

  • $241 to $431. A room, a small garage, a move-out leftover pile. Quarter to half truck.
  • $513 to $732. A two or three-car garage, an estate, a full house clear. Five-eighths to a full load.

Every one of these is quoted per load, before that load runs. Nobody learns the total at the end.

What never appears on a Sacramento invoice

  • A stair charge. Not in a Midtown Victorian, not in a third-floor walk-up off Howe Avenue.
  • A long-carry fee for the hundred feet from a garden-complex carport to the unit door.
  • A same-day or weekend surcharge.
  • A summer or heat surcharge. A July pickup costs what a January one costs.
  • A refrigerant fee on a fridge or a window AC unit.
  • A separate disposal or gate-rate line. Disposal is inside the quoted number.
  • A fuel charge for the run out to Elk Grove, Folsom or West Sacramento.

How the two prices interact

Every job is calculated twice, item by item and by truck fill, and you get the lower one. That is why several of the examples above show an itemized total and then a smaller booked price.

The crossover sits at roughly four to six pieces of furniture. Below that, itemizing almost always wins. Above it, the volume ladder does. You do not have to work out which side you are on. The quote does it.
