Mattress disposal laws in Sacramento: what you can and cannot do

Four rules govern a mattress in Sacramento, and none of them are obscure.

1. It does not go in your household bin. It does not fit and it is not accepted.

Why a mattress is treated differently from a sofa

Because it is a recycling target, not just a bulky item. A mattress is roughly ninety percent recoverable by weight once it is broken down: steel from the springs, foam, fiber and timber from the frame.
